Monthly slots vs. annual slots

At Influ2, we offer two subscription models—monthly slots and annual slots—to help you manage your advertising budget and audience reach. Here’s a clear breakdown of how each model works:

Monthly slots

In the monthly slots model, you pay for a fixed number of slots each month. Once you use all your slots, ads will not be shown to new people until the next billing cycle. Unused slots do not carry over to the next month.

Example: If you subscribe to 2,000 slots per month:

  • In January, you reach exactly 2,000 people, using all your slots.
  • In February, you only reach 1,800 people. The 200 unused slots do not carry over, and your limit resets to 2,000 for March.

This model is ideal for businesses looking for predictable monthly spend and steady audience engagement over time.

Annual slots

The annual slots model gives you a set number of slots for the entire year, offering flexibility to use them at any pace across the year. Unused slots in any given month remain available until the end of the year.

Example: If you subscribe to 24,000 slots per year:

  • In January, you run a small campaign and reach only 100 people, using your first 100 slots.
  • In February, a bigger campaign reaches 500 people, using 500 slots. You still have 23,400 slots to use as needed throughout the rest of the year.
  • You plan to run large campaigns in the spring and fall; this will allow you to make up for using so few slots during the first few months and other slower times.

This model is perfect for businesses with seasonal or fluctuating marketing campaigns, allowing you to allocate slots as needed throughout the year.

Audience management and billing cycle tips

To make the most of your slot allocation and avoid unexpected charges or wasted resources, it's important to make significant audience changes at the beginning of your billing cycle. This timing ensures optimal use of your slots. Here’s why:

Monthly slots

In the monthly model, once you reach your monthly slot limit, new contacts added mid-cycle will not be shown ads  — even if you remove part of your current audience from existing ad campaigns. It’s best to make significant audience changes at the start of your billing cycle to ensure they receive ads right away without exceeding your limit.

Annual slots

If you replace your audience mid-cycle with entirely new contacts, the original audience has already consumed slots, and the new audience will start consuming additional slots. This could lead to higher slot usage than expected. To avoid higher usage than expected, it’s recommended to make major audience changes at the start of a billing cycle.

Key differences between monthly and annual slots

Monthly Slots:

  • Fixed number of slots each month.
  • Unused slots do not roll over.
  • Best for consistent, predictable advertising needs.

Annual Slots:

  • Set number of slots for the entire year, with flexible usage.
  • Unused slots remain available for future use within the same year.
  • Ideal for businesses with seasonal or irregular campaigns.

At Influ2, a slot is one unique individual who sees an ad, every month in which they see the ad. With monthly and annual slots models, you choose the structure that best suits your business. Monthly slots offer consistency, while annual slots provide flexibility.
